A marriage is an agreement between two people that will remain by each other’s side, for better or for worse, till death do they part. Such are the words spoken when a couple is at the altar getting married. Marriage however is not just about saying ‘I do’ when the time comes. There are other formalities associated with marriage certificates which must be abided by if the marriage is to be considered legal and accepted by the state/government authorities as well as by the specific religion to which the two individuals getting married belong to.
Before a marriage certificate can be obtained, the man and woman getting married need to fulfill the requirements. For one, they should both be above the age of 18 to get married if they do not wish to take consent from a parent or judge. Health checkups and vaccinations are also provided to the individuals before they can get married.
For a marriage certificate to be issued, there need to be witnesses present who can verify that the marriage did occur and that people were present in order to view it take place. Without a marriage certificate these days, neither the court nor the state accepts a marriage as having taken place which is why every couple needs to have a marriage certificate made at the time of their wedding. Having an authorized individual to view the proceedings is also always a good idea. This ensures that the marriage is not a fake and actually did take place.
